Disabled WinterSport Australia (DWA) helps people with disabilities experience skiing and snowboarding in the Snowy Mountains.

Members receive concessions on lift passes, private lessons, and adaptive ski equipment at resorts across Australia. From beginners to Paralympians, DWA supports skiers of all levels.

With backing from the Australian Sports Commission and Paralympic Committee, DWA continues to expand opportunities. Get involved as a donor, sponsor, or ski guide and help make winter sports accessible.

Lift Tickets & Snow School

To ride the lifts, you'll need a valid ski lift ticket, which you can purchase on the day or as part of a lift and lesson package. With a range of options available, there’s something for everyone—from first-timers to black diamond pros.

Both Thredbo and Perisher offer professional ski schools with group and private lessons, as well as specialized race and powder clinics. Booking a five-day package that includes lifts and lessons can offer significant savings, so be sure to check out the best deal before hitting the slopes!

Equipment Hire

The right equipment can make or break your snow holiday—but don’t worry, you don’t need to spend a fortune! In Jindabyne, you’ll find professional ski hire shops offering the latest skis, snowboards, boots, and clothing at great prices. Renting locally is best, as you can easily swap or adjust gear if needed—unlike hiring from home, where you risk being stuck with uncomfortable boots.

Thredbo Chairlift Ride

One of Thredbo’s top attractions, the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift is a 1.8 km scenic ride with a 560-meter vertical rise, reaching the closest access point to Mount Kosciuszko’s summit walk. Operating year-round, it offers breathtaking alpine views in just 15 minutes.
